The Different Types of Enameled Aluminum Wire Gauge Ranges
An aluminum wire will have a different wire gauge than a standard wire would have, depending on where it has gone through the manufacturing process. If the wire has gone through a magnetic coating then it will be thicker than a standard wire because it is made out of a different metal. The thickness will be a lot less than you would expect, especially if you compare the thickness of a thick Enameled wire with other types of aluminum. Typically, an Enameled wire gauge will have a gauge rating of 0.Bda; therefore, it is the highest quality wire that can be found for any given purpose. However, because it is highly magnetic, it will conduct electrical current at higher speeds than any other type of wire.
Because the thickness is so much thinner than other forms of wire, Enameled aluminum wire gauges are able to be installed in less space than other wires would. This is especially helpful because of the fact that they are not as sensitive to shrinkage when they are placed under more heat and pressure than regular wires would be. For instance, if a wire were to be run through all of the cooling fans on a computer then it would need to be run at full speed to ensure that it functions correctly and has no gaps in it. However, if it is run at half capacity then there is room for it to dissipate heat and allow the heat to go through the wire.
